Toning a Cassetta Frame
We were commissioned to make a cassetta profile frame for a painting going on exhibit in a local museum. We matched the final finish to the finish on a frame also going into the show. The photo shows the frame burnished and ready to be toned. The lower photo is the final finish, the gold rubbed and toned to mimic how gilding mellows over time.
